This effort raised $880 total, with $440 for our club, and $540 to be paid out as prize money. The donated birds will compete for the prize money, and were auctioned off as follows:

Hi Everybody,
This is a reminder about our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held next Saturday January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am at the clubhouse.
The 2023 CU and CP bands will then be available to all members. It works best if members pay their $50 annual membership fee when they buy their bands. If you are a REALLY early breeder and need bands before January 14th, please contact Dennis Gubert by text/phone @ 778-251-7478 or email at dennisgubes@gmail.com
This is the most important meeting of the year, and we look forward to seeing you there and hearing your ideas and suggestions ― and even your complaints. It is also your opportunity to step up and volunteer for a position to serve the whole club … we need all the help we can get!

March 23rd
2022 |
Our legband/ring order for 2023 has to be submitted before the end of March 2022. Thus far, only 12 members have provided me with the number of bands they would like to order for 2023. If you view the attached file, you will notice that the Canadian Pigeon Fancy Association (CPFA) bands will most likely cost 45 cents each next year again, while the Canadian Racing Pigeon Union (CU) bands will most likely cost 75 cents each next year again.
The main reason for placing an order for CU bands, is that those members wish to enter birds with CU bands into one-loft/derby races that do not accept other bands such as the CPFA bands.
PLEASE help me and let me know as soon as possible, (if your name is not already on the list), how many bands of which type you think you may need for next year (2023). You may text me at 604-727-2919 or email me at davidkaplan51@gmail.com

Hello Everybody,
Here is the timetable for our club activities for April:
1. Basketing for an Old Bird training toss from Rosedale Bridge will take place on Friday April 22nd, 2022. The training toss will take place on Saturday April 23rd, weather permitting.
2. Allocation of electronic bands for Old Birds will take place on Sunday April 24th from 10:00 am until everybody has been served. Please remember to bring your electronic clock. Electronic bands will be available at $3.20 per band.
3. An auction will be held at the clubhouse after basketing for the first OB race ... most likely on Friday April 29th, 2022. Fanciers who wanted to boost the club finances, used to donate youngsters and other birds like breeders or extra birds, during our annual pigeon show to be auctioned off. This year we did not do this during our show. So, anybody who wants to donate youngsters or other birds to be auctioned off with all the proceeds going to the club, are welcome to bring these birds to the clubhouse during basketing for our first OB race. And anybody who wants to buy some of these birds on auction, is more than welcome to attend.
Any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,

Hello Everybody,
Instead of running a derby loft at the club, Chris Moore proposed that we hold a Super Special Race in 2022, according to the guidelines set out below:
Proposed Super Special Race for 2022
o 3-bird entry fee = $275. $75 perch fee + $200 capital payout.
o Breeder gets 60% and handler 40% of capital winnings.
o Breeder can designate to which handler’s loft 2 of his birds from every entry go; the 3rd is chosen on a lottery system.
Please see the rest of the guidelines in the attachment, and then please let Chris Moore know if you are interested in being a breeder, a handler, or both.

Hi Everybody,
Everybody who wants to participate in this money race, must provide the race secretary, Karol Pawlowski, with the band numbers of the young birds he/she nominates for this race. Your list must be handed in during basketing for our first 2021 young bird race. Members may nominate up to 10 birds at $10 per bird, to be paid with basketing for our first 2021 young bird race.
Please feel free to contact any of the Executive members (Brian Nicholson, Dennis Gubert, Chris Moore, Karol Pawlowski or David Kaplan) if you have any questions.
Hope to see you at basketing for our 1st YB race ... with your list of nominations!

Hello Everybody,
All the club members who qualify to vote on the new proposed young bird race schedule have voted, and they all voted “yes”. So, we will be flying this new schedule, starting with the club training toss from Rosedale Bridge on Saturday July 31st, followed by our first race from Sunshine Valley on Saturday August 7th, if the weather and wildfires allow.
Keep training those young birds, and we hope to see you soon!

Hello Everybody,
Because of the current weather forecast, basketing for our Hope Slide old bird race (60 miles/97 kilometers) will take place this Saturday evening May 1st from about 6:00 pm, for a Sunday May 2nd race.
I apologize for making a mistake with downloading the race points into most of the electronic clocks during the allocation. I therefore request that members bring their electronic clocks to me inside the clubhouse before basketing for the first race, so I can quickly do the update.
Thanks ... Hope to see you there!
Please take care of yourselves and stay safe,

November 6th 2020 |
Hello Everybody,
Because the Coronavirus pandemic is currently worse than ever before in BC, the Executive (Brian Nicholson, Dennis Gubert, Chris Moore & David Kaplan), have decided to call off all club activities for the foreseeable future, including the November 21st, 2020 club meeting and auction of birds, as well as the early January pigeon show.
It is ALWAYS better to err on the side of caution and to rather be safe than sorry. If any member attending a club activity, or any family member or contact becomes ill and suffer with Covid-19 because of a club activity, we will never be able to forgive ourselves.
If the pandemic is again better controlled in BC early next year, we may schedule our Annual General Meeting during March 2021, and a follow-up meeting during April 2021, before we start our racing season early May. There may even be an effective vaccine against Covid-19 available by then, that will make it much safer for us to continue with our normal club activities in 2021.
Please check your emails regularly, because we will send out notifications about the 2021 pigeon bands early in January 2021. Members who may need bands before our AGM in March, may then arrange to have their bands mailed to them and cover the costs for that by eTransfer, or arrange with me to pick up their bands at my home in Maple Ridge. All club members must also pay their $50 annual membership fee for 2021 before our first old bird race.
We will communicate all news and/or new developments to our members as it becomes available. Please feel free to stay in contact by text, email, or phone, with any or all of the Executive members mentioned above, should you have any questions or require further information.
Please take good care of yourself and your loved ones … and be safe!

Hello Everybody,
The most important meeting of our club for 2017 is only one week away. Next Saturday, February 25th, 2017 our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 10:00 am at the North Road clubhouse.
Please study the attached agenda for this meeting, and be prepared to participate as a valued member of the club.

Updated proposed club race schedule for 2017
The annual election of officers who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our club, will take place at the AGM ― please be ready with your nominations for each position.
For our club to function optimally, it is vital that each member serve on at least one of the club committees, and that members are willing to do service as an elected officer of the club. So please think in advance about which committee you would like to serve on, or for which of the club officer positions for the 2017/2018 season, you are willing to stand for election.
It is always good when friends get together, don’t you agree? So come and relax and enjoy the meeting. It will be GREAT to see you there, have you participate and spend a few hours of quality time with your friends and fellow club members.
See you there!
