Just a reminder that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held next Saturday January 4th, 2025 starting at 9:30 am at the clubhouse ... everybody welcome!
And then also a reminder that around 70 birds from our long-time friend and club member, Lorne Trow, will be auctioned off after the meeting. There will be around 50 birds that were not presented at the first auction.
Lorne’s birds come from some of the best bloodlines through the years such as Aarden, Houben, Janssen, Sion, Delbar, Meulemans, Ganus, John Koene, Chris Peeman, and many more. These are really quality birds and Lorne would have won many more club races, was it not for the fact that his lofts were in Maple Ridge for the past 20 years.
Lorne has been flying racing pigeons for nearly 40 years and has won his share of club and derby races. Lorne’s loft name is Trowjanhorse and his birds came 1st in the 300-mile OB race in 2023, and 2nd in the 350-mile and 3rd in the 250-mile Old Bird races in 2024. His birds also came in 2nd and 5th place in the 2024 Super Special Race ― Lorne’s birds have also won him a fair bit of prize money in various derbies over the years.
Do yourself a big favour and enrich your loft with some of Lorne’s birds! ... treat yourself to a late Christmas gift and buy some of his birds.
There will also be loft supplies like baskets, feeders, nest bowls, and more for sale.
We also hope to have the 2025 bands available at the meeting, but they may not arrive on time because of the long postal strike.
